Fragrant Memories Kits has all you need to evoke past memories and encourage discussion essential part of dementia care particularly for people who have recently moved into a care home.
Our New Spring Fragrant Memories Kit – includes Rose, Lemon and Jasmine oils have all you need to evoke past memories and encourage discussion. Just put a few drops of the fragrance on the pad and place in the smelling pot. Three specially selected fragrances and six smelling pots (three for your own items e.g. lemon peel, rose petal, coffee…).
Each set has a question prompt card with a set of 6 questions to help get started. Extra ideas are also included – why not add some food/music to add to the atmosphere. With our fragrances you could add some fresh cutting from the garden to evoke memories and discussion.
How It Works
Place 2-3 drops of the matching scent on cotton pads in the smelling jar and have the participant (s) smell the scent . Can be done as a one to one sensory activity or in a small group with people living with dementia.
